Today, only some things I am loving: glimpses of the foliage around my workplace taken last week.

It makes me unspeakably happy to see these colors each day as I arrive.

(The door for the office is just to the right of this photo, outside of the shot. The azaleas are also now really in bloom; I should really take some more photos tomorrow.)

Pink on a gray day

I took the above photo the day before all of the others. It was gray and chilly, but I think it makes a nice contrast for these blazing pink blooms.

This is not an easy photo for me to post. It is completely raw - post shower, no makeup, very early morning. I almost never go anywhere without makeup or doing my hair.

But it's me and part of the point of starting this group was to help me get over the idea that I have to look/be "perfect" to post a photo of myself.

And so, here it is. Me, au natural.

It's finally painted-toes-and-flip-flops weather!

Well, mostly. It's in the 40s this morning, so I guess I won't be wearing flip flops today, but having my toes painted hot pink still makes me happy, even if they are going to be hidden beneath a pair of hose and
ballet flats when I go to work.

I had a really hard to time thinking of a "me and my" this week. On Friday, I tried to get some photos of me in my favorite red cami before I left from work, but I didn't really like any of them.

The one I am posting I am going to call "Me and My Straightened Hair" because I'd decided to do something different that day with my hair, and Rob really liked the way it turned out. However, you really can't see my hair in the photo. But, I can't think of what else to call it.

My favorite jeans

These are my favorite jeans. I've had them for over four years now. And they have a tiny tear in the back, which means they aren't exactly appropriate for public view any longer.

But I still love them. They slide on like only that perfect pair of jeans can. They should be tossed, but I can't do it.

I took that photo last week since I didn't know what today - first day on the new job! - would be like. I sat the camera (Nikon D70) on a chair, propped it up with some books, and used the remote and timer.

Nature's Easter eggs

No need to color eggs this year; God took care of the hues.

And you know, I don't think we could do any better.

Another view

(Rob's senior director raises chickens and regularly gives us fresh eggs. As beautiful and varied as they are on the outside, a look inside reveals yolks that are bright yellow - almost orange. Their color pallet continues to amaze me.)

I am pondering starting a group called "Me and My* Monday". The idea is that you would post a self-portrait each Monday with the theme, "Me and My [you fill in the blank]". It would be preferable if you took the photo that day, but not a hard and fast rule.

What do you think? Would you participate?

Here's what I came up with today with that thought in mind:

Not sure I am liking it, but I am trying to get past my aversion to photos of myself. I chose the green glass because it is St. Patty's Day (duh).

So, any takers?

To the idea; not me or my green glass ;-).

*Giving credit where credit is due...I have a friend who participates in a Flickr group called 7 Days (or something like that) and one of the day's theme that week was "Me and My". I chose Monday because I like alliteration.
